Rachel - Torso Armour

Hey Guys and Girlz =)

Ookey, so it's start of holidays, got a tonne of work to do on Major Project, so I guess I can't afford to be lazy this Easter. Mmm.. in other news, I'm contemplating bunny life drawing, cuz we have to hand in our portfolios early next month. Have a guud-1 =)

Tonight's Studies (final torso & abs)

Heya, here is my final torso study and a study of the abs. I put in some texture to give it a classic feel.. =)
Tomorrow I really want to get cracking on the pelvic region and the legs, and finally the lower arms and hands. I feel I'm a little bit behind actually, as I wanted to begin with my character this week. So.. I'm thinking Tuesday or Wednesday instead.

Please let me know what you think?

Thank you. =)

Tonight's Studies (Torso Anatomy)

So.. here's the promised torso anatomy (they are from reference, Drawing School Anatomy book), trying to remember the shape, contours, and placement of the muscles on the torso as I'm drawing, and how it connects with the head and the arms. Also I'm trying really hard to keep things in proportion by gesturing carefully with the side of the pencil first, and then measuring by eye, checking with big shapes first and then going more detailed with the point of the pencil. And then to improve the quality I'm trying to use just a single, confident line to represent the shape and mass of what I'm drawing, thinking all the time about the mass, this is very important as it builds confidence and observation skills.
